1915 Gibson A-4 Mandolin

Gibson (used, 1919) Style A-4 Black Face mandolin in very good condition with original hard shell case.
This is Gibson’s highest grade of teardrop shaped oval hole mandolin; you can tell this because it has extra fancy purfling around the soundhole, binding on top and back, a large abalone fleur-de-lis inlay in the headplate under the “The Gibson” logo. The tuners are engraved and are all in perfect condition, along with the tail piece, bridge, and pick guard. Happily, the bridge, tailpiece, tailpiece cover and tuners are all completely original and the hard shell case is original. The frets show normal wear. This mandolin looks great, plays great and sounds simply wonderful.
All original A-4 Gibson Mandolin. $2,700.00 plus insurance and shipping

It can be heard on Steve's Flatpicking the Gospels for Mandolin, The Four Hour Bluegrass Works-Out and most of Steve's CDs prior to 2006 when he started playing his Weber Yellowstone.
